The History

Built on the 13th of April 1975, she was first delivered to Rosedale, New York before being imported into the UK shortly after. Later in her life she became a tender to a motor boat based in the Salcombe Estuary being taken across the South Coast of England and Channel Islands. The current owner has owned the boat for the past 4 years with the grand plan of restoring her back to her original beauty with no expense or time spared.

The Restoration

This restoration project has had a simple goal - blend the classic hull of the “Unsinkable Legend” with modern components and engineering to produce the perfect contemporary vessel.

The process started with sanding back to the original gelcoat to create a surface that would provide the best adhesion for the epoxy.

After many hours of sanding, the hull was fully cleaned and primed using 5 layers of Epoxy Guard by Nautix - providing the best adhesion and protection against moisture abrasion.

Next, 4 layers of two part, polyurethane topcoat was applied using International’s Perfection Pro which provides a very hard warning and chemical resistant finish to the boat. The freshly varnished mahogany has been imported from Texas, United States.

The optional extra of the helm seat backrest was installed to provide the most comfort.

Stainless railings and the Norman Pin were also imparted and installed to keep the restoration as original a possible.

The brand new Yamaha 40HP outboard comes with 5 years warranty from the date of sale and has been installed using highly experienced marine engineers and high quality parts from trusted manufacturers. A fuel filter and water separator have been installed leaving space for the 12L fuel tank to lay beneath the rear bench to maximise the available deck space. A larger 24L fuel tank is also available.

On the deck, you will find a uniquely patterned EVA Foam deck that provides a stylish and maintenance free solution to non-slip decking finishing the overall look.
