TRAINING
Safety is a high priority at Wolf Rock; therefore, we are proud to partner with an RYA Training Centre based in Salcombe. Ollie and Freddy are instructors and skippers that offer RYA Powerboat Level 2 courses in Salcombe to promote safety on the water. RYA PB2 courses are 2 days long and are designed and delivered to those of all ability.

WHY DO I NEED A PB2?

Confidence - The Powerboat Level 2 course provides the experience, information and confidence to allow anyone to get out on a boat.

Insurance – Some insurance companies only permit those with at least a PB2 to drive a boat.

Responsibility – When driving a boat, you are responsible for your crew and other water users. Learn how to prevent an incident or injury and how to safely handle one should it occur.

International Certificate of Competence (ICC) – Upon completion of your PB2, you can apply for your ICC allowing you to hire boats internationally up to 10m!
CAN I DO A POWERBOAT LEVEL 2 ON MY OWN BOAT?
Absolutely! – It can be beneficial to get an experienced instructor onto your own boat to cater the course towards you! This can be a cheaper, more effective way of getting the most out of the two-day course. The instructors are highly experienced and familiar with Brig, Iron and Gala boats.
WHO CAN DO A POWERBOAT LEVEL 2?
Anyone over the age of 12 can participate! It can be fun with family and friends. Only 3 people can participate in the course at any one time.
WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?
Ollie and Freddy are highly experienced professional skippers licensed to operate vessels up to 78 ft. With thousands of hours experience navigating waters across the UK, they bring the skill and expertise needed to provide a safe and enjoyable training experience. Their knowledge and guidance will ensure that you gain confidence on the water and become more comfortable on your boat.
